Police Blotter: October 11 – 22

10/16/2018  1:16 p.m. – 31-year-old Elliot Mr. Cruikshank of Fairbanks was arrested and charged with assault after a report was submitted of him holding a child in a chokehold and yelling at them near Ballaine Lake.


10/11/2018  2:31 p.m. – An investigation is ongoing for a wallet that was reported as being stolen from the SRC.

10/11/2018  3:43 p.m. – A report of theft of sushi from the food service in the Wood Center was submitted.  An officer took a statement and suspect description, and the investigation is ongoing.

10/12/2018  5:26 p.m. – Headphones were reported stolen from a backpack in the SRC sometime between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.   Investigation is ongoing.


10/12/2018  8:49 a.m. – A car drove off the road on Thompson Drive.  There were no injuries, although the car had to be towed and there was damage to UAF property.

10/17/2018  6:51 a.m. – There was an accident involving multiple cars on College Road, with no injuries.

10/21/2018  1:23 p.m. – An unoccupied car rolled backward into a parked car.  The owner of the first car was on the scene when the officer got there, and the officer contacted the owner of the struck car.


Reckless Driving
10/12/2018  12:11 p.m. – An officer talked to a reckless driver on the road outside of the Lola Tilly Commons, and contacted the owner of the car.


10/12/2018  4:30 p.m. – An officer responded to reports of vandalism outside of the Fine Arts building.  It was found that juveniles were putting wax onto their bikes while trying to do various bicycle tricks.  They were trespassed from the area, and their parents were contacted.


Probation/Parole Violation
10/15/2018  4:50 a.m. – During a traffic stop, 35-year-old Tyson C. Hillyer of North Pole was discovered to be driving with a suspended license and expired registration.  Hillyer was arrested and charged for violating conditions of release and cited for driving with expired registration, no proof of insurance, and driving with a suspended license.


Traffic Stop
10/14/2018  8:35 p.m. – During a traffic stop on Tanana Loop, 20-year-old Glenn L Rodgers of Fairbanks was cited for not driving with a valid drivers license.

10/20/2018  1:07 a.m. – A juvenile driver was pulled over for failing to stop at a stop sign on Tanana Loop.  Parents were contacted to pick up the vehicle, driver, and passenger.


Suspicious Circumstances
10/17/2018  4:27 p.m. – An officer investigated a hole in a fence near the Aurora Building that had been there for two weeks.

10/18/2018  4:23 p.m. – Residents were woken up by yelling in the Cutler Apartment Complex.  An officer responded with the people involved and found that the argument was only verbal.


Criminal Trespass
10/19/2018  4:59 p.m.
– 60-year-old William C. Whitewater of Fairbanks was arrested in Wood Center and charged with criminal trespass.


Lost Property
10/19/2018  5:59 p.m. – A wallet that had been lost somewhere in the upper dorms, Gruening building, or Reichardt building on either October 18th or 19th was found and returned to its owner.


Intoxicated Person
10/21/2018  1:30 a.m. – An ambulance took an intoxicated person in the Cutler Apartment Complex lot having a panic attack to the hospital.


10/21/2018  4:00 a.m. – An officer came across a car parked on the lawn of a church with its lights on, with the driver slumped over in the seat.  The driver, 39-year-old Gena M. Wallis of Fairbanks, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.


Welfare Check
10/19/2018  7:43 p.m. – A staff member at the West Ridge Research Building received “incoherent emails and voicemails” from someone from Denver.  A UAF officer contacted the Denver police department to perform a welfare check on the person sending the emails and making the calls.

10/22/2018  10:05 a.m. – A relative called the UAF police department, concerned about a student who wasn’t responding to them.  An officer tried to find the student, and the relative called, later on, to say that everything was okay.

Police Blotter: September 4 – 20

9/20/2018  3:25 a.m. – 21-year-old Leeroy J. Kobuck of St. Michael was arrested, charged with second-degree assault domestic violence, and trespassed from UAF property for 10 years.  His partner and child were taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and provided with Advocate and Domestic Violence information.


Harassing Communications
9/17/2018  5:56 p.m. – An officer responded to a road rage incident in the Singers Hall lot.  One driver honked at another driver and called her a name, leading to the other driver yelling back.  18-year-old Connor R. Gibbs of Fairbanks was cited for harassment.

9/17/2018  7:05 p.m. – A person that came to the station to report harassment that occurred at the Toga Dance in the Hess Rec Center on September 8th.  An officer took the statement and provided Title IX and Resource Center contact information.  The incident is being investigated for possible charges.

9/18/2019  2:04 a.m. – A student from Bartlett Hall reported that they were being harassed by another student.  The investigation is ongoing.


9/18/2018  7:13 p.m
. – A welder was reported stolen from the Nenana Lot, and the fence in the area was cut in different spots.  A bolt cutter was found near the fence.  An officer took pictures of the scene and took the bolt cutters.  The welder was later reported as not stolen, just moved.  However, an investigation is still ongoing for the fence cutting.

9/4/2018  10:23 a.m.
– An officer investigated a student whom a relative had reported had not returned from a camping trip.  Later it was found that the relative had mixed up the dates, and the student wasn’t missing.

9/17/2018  6:16 p.m. – A relative requested a checkup on a resident of Walsh Hall.


Suspicious Circumstances
9/5/2018  11:25 a.m. – A call was made about unknown belongings found outside of the University Park building.  Facility Services will remove them.

9/5/2018  11:25 a.m. – A complainant reported another driver yelling at them in the Chapman Building parking lot.  Officer contacted the driver and found that they had mouthed sorry to the complainant after not seeing him while backing up.

9/5/2018  2:12 p.m. – 19-year-old Genesis C. Blatchford of Fairbanks was trespassed from UAF property and issued a summons for possessing marijuana.

9/18/2018  7:05 p.m. – A man in his 30’s was walking around the pool area of the Patty Ice Arena asking the staff members personal questions and making them uncomfortable.  An officer responded and identified a possible individual.  Investigation is ongoing.

9/19/2018  5:54 p.m. – An officer investigated a smashed window outside of a house on North Chandalar, and determined a lawn crew may have hit a rock that then smashed the window.  Facilities Services was notified.


Traffic Stop
9/6/2018  10:05 p.m. – 59-year-old Mark D. Ross of Fairbanks was given a summons for reckless driving and a citation for studded tires.


9/7/2018  11:21 a.m. – A driver reported hitting a sign on Thompson Drive.  Facilities were notified, and an officer took pictures of the scene.


Lost Property
9/7/2018  12:56 p.m. – A complainant reported losing their wallet in the wood center the day before.  An officer is following up.


Intoxicated Person
9/7/2018   11:43 p.m. – A drunk minor was taken to the hospital.  A citation will be issued.

9/8/2018  12:32 a.m. – A drunk person was reported to be arguing and yelling at a dance in the MBS Lobby and Hess Commons.  They were taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center and issued a citation for drinking alcohol underage.

9/8/2018  12:44 a.m. – A person was taken to the sobering center after being reported as drunk at a dance.  They were issued a minor consuming citation.


9/9/2018  3:28 a.m
. – During a traffic stop, 60-year-old Dennis J. Dougherty of Fairbanks was found to be driving while under the influence.  Dougherty was arrested and charged with DUI.


Driving While License Revoked
9/9/2018  3:44 p.m. – During a traffic stop, 60-year-old Jens J. Braaten of Fairbanks was cited for driving with a revoked license, and was warned for speeding and having no proof of insurance.

Missing Person
4/3/2018 8:06 p.m. – A person who had been reported missing was found in the Rasmuson Library. Their cell phone battery had died.

Suspicious Circumstances
4/4/2018 2 a.m. – A screaming woman behind the Duckering Building was reported to the police. However, officers could not find any woman screaming.

4/5/2018 3:26 a.m. – A suspicious car was seen in the lot by Ballaine Lake. The license plates did not match the registration for the car and were confiscated. The driver was found to have a suspended license and was told not to continue driving the car.

3/26/2018 6:44 p.m. – Responding to a call about a suspicious man on the Fairbanks Street bridge, police arrested 40-year-old Justin D. Costello, of Fairbanks, for criminal trespass.

3/26/2018 9:22 p.m. – An officer talked to a man who had been making “concerning comments” during a conversation.

3/31/2018 11:41 p.m. – A man with no affiliation with UAF was told to leave the Rasmuson Library 23-hour study area.

4/1/2018 1:35 a.m. – A bag of “possible marijuana” found in the Fine Arts Building was disposed of.

4/1/2018 10:41 p.m. – Three suspicious cars were parked and blocking Drajnik Road. Officers responded and told the drivers to move their cars.

Parole Violation
4/5/2018 11:15 p.m. – During a traffic stop, a passenger was arrested for violating the conditions of their parole.

Harassing Communications
4/6/2018 11:39 a.m. – A man was harassing an employee in the Elvey Building and kept visiting their office despite being told not to by the dean of students. Protective order and Title IX information was given to the employee. The man showed up again at the office and was informed of trespass. He had an anxiety attack, started screaming, and was taken to the hospital by officers.

4/7/2018 8:38 p.m. – A car key was reported as being stolen. A community service officer unlocked the car for the owner of the missing key.

3/29/2018 8:56 p.m. – A bag and iPad were stolen from a car in the Fine Arts parking lot. The bag was later found in the art department and a suspect was identified.

Driving Without a Valid License
4/7/2018 9:33 p.m. – A driver was cited for not having a motorcycle endorsement on their license. A friend drove them home.

4/8/2018 1:10 a.m. – During a traffic stop, 28-year-old William E. Henderson, of Fairbanks, was found to be driving drunk and was arrested.

Sexual Assault
3/27/2018 10:49 p.m. – Officers looked into a possible sexual assault that occurred on March 23 in Cutler Apartments. Investigation has been started.

2/28/2018 11:50 a.m. – A man in Walsh Hall was arrested and charged for domestic assault.

3/1/2018 9:40 p.m. – A report of sexual assault occurring in November and December of 2017 was discovered to be unfounded. All people involved were of legal consent age and all contact was consensual.

2/28/2018 12:53 p.m. – A driver was cited for not driving cautiously, causing an accident behind the University Park building.

3/5/2018 2:22 p.m. – A UAF snowgrader got into an accident with a car outside of the Physical Plant. Police conducted interviews and took photos.

Domestic Disturbance
2/28/2018 7:43 p.m. – A person who hadn’t returned an item to their ex was talked to by an officer, and the situation was resolved.

Criminal Trespass
3/1/2018 12:32 a.m. – 20-year-old Clarence D. Grienpentrog, of Ambler, was trespassed from all UAF property.

3/3/2018 4:58 p.m. – A drunk man reportedly ran from an officer at the Fine Arts Building. 25-year-old Kyle S. Stark, of North Pole, was caught and arrested for criminal trespass.

3/5/2018 9:34 a.m. – A student who was acting erratically at Trident-Way, Kodiak was found to be living on campus. He was trespassed, and Kodiak Police were contacted.

3/5/2018 3:12 p.m. – Kyle S. Stark was trespassed from the Gruening Building after being found drunk on campus again, according to a police report. He was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and for violating conditions of release.

3/1/2018 11:17 a.m. – Lab equipment went missing from a shared lab in the West Ridge Research Building. Serial numbers were provided and an investigation is ongoing.

3/8/2018 2:32 p.m. – An Apple TV was stolen from the Bartlett main lounge two nights previously. A possible suspect was identified and OIT was contacted to see if they could trace the device.

3/8/2018 7:34 p.m. – A half-finished woodcarving was stolen from outside the art wing of the Fine Arts Complex. Investigation is ongoing and faculty was contacted to see if the project had been moved.

3/10/2018 11:09 a.m. – An iPad was stolen from the University Park building. Surveillance video showed a suspect taking the iPad, as well as a blue yoga bag. Investigation is ongoing.

3/1/2018 5 p.m. – A resident director in Moore Hall found prescription drugs in one of the dorm rooms. The bottle had been left in that room by another student who had a prescription, and they were returned. During the search, knives and marijuana were found. The knives were mailed to the home address of the student and criminal charges are being reviewed for the marijuana.

3/6/2018 4:12 p.m. – Two men were found smoking marijuana in the Nenana Lot. 18-year-old Jaylon R. Hammonds, of Fairbanks, was arrested and charged for providing false information to police officers and for violating conditions of release. 18-year-old Ryan C. Slayton was charged for underage possession of marijuana.

3/4/2018 4:38 a.m. – An officer made contact with a drunk, vomiting woman in the MBS lobby bathroom. She was trespassed from campus and taken to an off-campus residence. A second woman was taken to her dorm.

3/10/2018 11:06 a.m. – An employee has been selling UAF metals to a recycling company. Investigation is ongoing.

3/11/2018 11:48 p.m. – Broken glass and a turned-over trash can were found in a room in the Duckering Building next to a hole in the wall. Photos were taken, and facilities were contacted. Investigation is ongoing.

Suspicious Circumstances
2/21/2018 1:57 p.m. – A resident in Moore Hall was trespassed from UAF after making threats.

2/24/2018 7:20 p.m. – The window of a car that was parked in the lot outside of the Cutler Apartment Complex was smashed, and blood was found on the car. A suspect was found using surveillance video. The investigation is ongoing.

Harassing Communications
2/22/2018 7:10 p.m. – An officer told a stalker to not make any contact with the person they had been stalking and notified Res Life, the Dean of Students, and Title IX.

2/23/2018 10:20 p.m. – An officer responded to an accident on Ag Farm Road. Both cars involved were towed.

2/26/2018 1:58 p.m. – A rental car hit another rental car in the East AHRL lot and drove away. Both of the drivers were identified, and the rental companies were contacted.

Criminal Trespass
2/23/2018 6:07 p.m. – A man who had been trespassed from Moore Hall was seen inside the building. An officer identified him from video, and charges were submitted to the District Attorney.

2/24/2018 12:38 a.m. – A man who had been trespassed from campus was found sleeping on the Lola Tilly Commons roof. 25-year-old Harvey D. Arabie, of Fairbanks, was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass and Misconduct Involving a Weapon.

2/27/2018 5:24 p.m. – A trespassed man was seen in MBS. Charges were forwarded to the District Attorney, and the Dean of Students was contacted about the man violating his no contact order. Additionally, a woman who was also involved was found to have an outstanding warrant. 19-year-old Cheyenne M. Davis, of Big Lake, was taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

2/25/2018 6:43 p.m. – A widow in the old University Park building was accidentally shattered by someone throwing a baseball.

2/27/2018 7:48 p.m. – Items were reported as having been stolen from lockers in the Wood Center. Investigation is ongoing.

Motorist Assist

2/7/2018 12:06 p.m. – An 18-wheeler got stuck on Butrovich Hill off Tanana Loop. The road was shut down so the truck could back down the road.

2/19/2018 10:35 a.m. – A car ran into a snow berm along the road near the West Ridge Ski Hut. The car was shoveled out, and helped back onto the road.

2/7/2018 1:32 p.m. – A man who is currently trespassed from UAF called employees in the Elvey Building and left harassing messages. He lives off campus, so Fairbanks police were notified.

Driving Without a License

2/7/2018 11:27 p.m. – During a traffic stop, 22-year-old Cameron Hobbs of Fairbanks was cited for driving without a license.

2/10/2018 3:14 a.m. – The driver of a car that was pulled over on Geist Road was found to be driving in violation of their instructional permit. The driver said the car was borrowed. Charges were forwarded to the District Attorney and the owner of the car was contacted.

2/8/2018 5:10 a.m. – A drunk woman in MBS Lobby was talking about a possible case of domestic violence that happened off campus. UAF officer checked up on the woman and the Fairbanks Police Department was notified.

2/8/2018 11:45 p.m. – A woman in Bartlett Hall was having a medical problem, but declined an ambulance.

Criminal Trespass

2/9/2018 9:50 a.m. – The Dean of Students notified UAF Police Department of a trespassed man on campus. An officer responded and arrested 30-year-old Rodney D. Carpluk of Fairbanks for criminal trespass.

2/12/2018 5:04 p.m. – A trespassed man was seen on campus near the MACS bus hut. 27-year-old Benjamin L. Villeponteaux of North Pole was arrested for criminal trespass.

2/14/2018 1:33 p.m. – A trespassed man came to the university police station without any prior appointment, violating his trespass order. The man became aggressive, and charges were forwarded to the district attorney.

Suspicious Circumstances

2/9/2018 5:40 p.m. – A man who was removed from a club at old University Park was still showing up to club meetings. He was trespassed from the area until the situation could be resolved.

2/13/2018 10:50 p.m. – A drunk man in the Fine Arts Building was trespassed from campus.

2/16/2018 1:08 p.m. – A man came to the university police department. He was taken off campus and reminded of his current trespass.


2/11/2018 2:45 p.m. – During a traffic stop, 28-year-old Rebecca G. McCracken of Fairbanks was arrested for driving under the influence.


2/13/2018 2:07 p.m. – A purse was taken from an unlocked car outside of Signers Hall.

2/14/2018 12:54 p.m. – A laptop went missing over the weekend from an office in the Duckering Building. Investigation is ongoing.

2/15/2018 7:10 p.m. – A local hockey coach reported items were stolen from a locker room in the Patty Ice Arena. The coach later found one of the missing items and would look around for the other.

Traffic Incident

2/17/2018 10:00 a.m. – The driver’s side mirror of a car had been broken outside of Tanana Housing. An officer is investigating.

Intoxicated Person

2/18/2018 5:27 a.m. – A woman in Skarland Hall who was intoxicated and not responding to questions was taken to the hospital.

Suspicious Circumstances

1/26/2018 11:24 p.m. – A man who was found sleeping in the MACs Bus Hut on campus was taken to a restaurant off campus.

1/29/2018 1:35 p.m. – The FBI is following up on suspicious statements made in the Gruening Building.

2/1/2018 12:36 p.m. – A woman screaming inside of a car in the Reichardt parking lot was given information for the Health & Counseling Center and for the Women’s Center.

2/1/2018 3:43 p.m. – A woman called from out of state, saying that a man who had sexually assaulted her in 1988 was trying to contact her. The original assault was reported to the State Troopers, and UAFPD is following up with them.

Motorist Assist

1/28/2018 12:11 a.m. – A tow truck was called for a car stuck in a snow bank on West Tanana Loop. There were no injuries.

Intoxicated Person

1/28/2018 1:51 a.m. – A drunk driver was stopped on the side of the road, where they vomited. The passenger in the car, who was also drunk, was taken to their room in Cutler Apartments.

2/3/2018 3:07 a.m. – A drunk student in Moore Hall would not follow directions their Resident Director was giving them. An officer arrived to assist.

Harassing Communications

1/28/2018 11:59 a.m. – A student in the MacLean House has been receiving threatening texts and emails. Title IX and the Dean of Students were contacted, and the suspect was contacted and notified of their trespass.

Criminal Trespass

1/30/2018 3:28 p.m. – A man was trespassed from campus after he verbally abused staff in Constitution Hall and threw things at them.

1/31/2018 8:44 a.m. – A man who had been trespassed from campus was seen in the Wood Center. Video was taken of the man and he will be charged.

2/1/2018 4:12 a.m. – An officer on patrol found a man in the 23 hour study area of the library who had been trespassed from UAF. He was detained and his probation officer was contacted.


2/3/2018 5:49 p.m .– A student in Wickersham Hall asked to be taken to the hospital after taking medication. An ambulance was called.


2/3/2018 11:50 a.m. – A man came into Bartlett Hall unaccompanied and tried to get into a fight with another guest. He was detained, trespassed from UAF and taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center. He was found intoxicated, thus violating conditions of release.

Traffic Stop

2/4/2018 1:42 a.m. – During a traffic stop for an equipment problem, the driver, 52-year-old Michael L. Stewart of Fairbanks, was found to be driving with a suspended license. He was cited and warned for equipment violations, and given a ride home.

Warrant Arrest

2/5/2018 9:45 p.m. – A car was seen parked by the side of the road with hazard lights on. There was one person in the car, and two more walking towards it. One of the people, 47-year-old Eva L. Webb of North Pole, had an open no bail warrant and was taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center.


2/6/2018 3:14 p.m. – Parents reported an act of vandalism that happened Jan. 25 involving their juvenile daughter and her boyfriend. Information on protective orders were provided and a trespass order was requested.

Police Blotter: Jan 10 – 24

Sexual Assault

1/19/2018 8:38 p.m. – A resident director contacted the UAF police for a student that wanted to talk to them about an attempted sexual assault that happened on Jan. 17. Investigation is ongoing.


1/16/2018 5:36 p.m. – There was a three car collision at Farmer’s Loop and North Tanana with the North lane of Farmer’s Loop being completely blocked. There were multiple injuries with two of the drivers being taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. The traffic lights were not working due to an electrical box that was damaged by the accident, and two trucks were called to remove cars from the road.

1/13/2018 12:09 p.m. – A hit and run happened in the SRC Parking Lot the previous Monday between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

1/23/2018 5:39 p.m. – A parked car was hit in the Taku lot sometime after 11:30 a.m. Parts from the other car were found on the ground and pictures were taken. The investigation is ongoing.

1/23/2018 8:46 p.m. – A report came in of a silver car hitting a parked car in the Cutler Apartment Complex parking lot. The driver of the car was identified and contacted.

1/12/2018 8:57 a.m. – Someone reported “possible crimes” occurring in the Rasmusson Library.

1/17/2018 11:00 a.m. – An officer talked to a driver of a contractor vehicle near the new power plant. People had complained about issues they had with the driver.

Traffic Stop

1/13/2018 3:49 a.m. – During a traffic stop, 31-year-old Stephen Obed of Fairbanks was found to be driving while drunk. Obed was arrested and charged with DUI.

1/15/2018 11:42 p.m. – A car was pulled over for having an out headlight. The driver, 26-year-old Marvin C. Mountain of Fairbanks, was also driving with a revoked license, as well as violating the conditions of his release. He was issued a citation for driving with a revoked license and taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center for violating the conditions of his release.

1/16/2018 11:47 p.m. – During a traffic stop, 42-year-old Andrew S. Towse of Fairbanks was cited for driving with a suspended license.


1/19/2018 3:44 p.m. – The UAF Police were called about a possible assault that happened “over a week ago.” Investigation is ongoing.


1/13/2018 10:38 a.m. – Vandalism was found on the exterior of McIntosh Hall. Investigation is ongoing.

1/15/2018 11:07 p.m. – Vandalism was found on the side of the Rasmusson Library.

Intoxicated Person

1/14/2018 3:30 a.m. – An officer checked up on a drunk woman in the middle of Farmer’s Loop Road. She was taken to her home and released to a relative.


1/15/2018 10:47 – A student in Moore Hall was missing items from their room from over winter break. An officer requested a written list of all the missing items.

Lost Property

1/17/2018 4:44 p.m. – A tablet was lost in the Wood Center but was later found on campus.

1/24/2018 5:40 p.m. – A MacBook Pro being borrowed from the library was left in either MBS or The Pub the night before.

1/17/2018 10:44 p.m. – A man was found in the downstairs bathroom in MBS. He was not a student, and was trespassed from UAF.

Suspicious Circumstances

11/27/2017 10:46 p.m. – An officer talked to a person who left a suspicious note in the Rasmusson Library.

11/29/2017 8:56 p.m. – A man was spotted in the Rasmusson Library with “something hanging from pants.” The man could not be found, but video footage was reviewed and the investigation is ongoing.

12/1/17 7:18 a.m. – A man was making irrational statements in the Gruening building, then started yelling at an officer who arrived to check on him. The man was trespassed from UAF.

12/5/2017 6:29 p.m. – A homeless man was found camping out in the Murie building lobby. His belongings were gathered and he was trespassed from the area. He had been formerly trespassed from other areas on campus.

12/6/2017 12:13 a.m. – A student near Wickersham Hall was dumping water onto the road using a trash can. An officer responded and Residence Life will have a follow-up discussion with the student discussing this and prior issues.


11/29/2017 11:52 a.m. – The bike seat was stolen from a bike outside Wood Center sometime between the Nov. 21-28. An officer is investigating.

11/30/2017 4:00 a.m. – During a traffic stop for failing to signal, a passenger was found to be drunk and violating the conditions of their release. Sameen S. Bhullar, 22, of Fairbanks, was arrested and taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

11/30/2017 3:51 p.m. – A student reported having been harassed by another student over the past three months. The dean of students was contacted for follow-up.

12/2/2017 2:09 p.m. – A snow machine driver near the agriculture farm railroad tracks was reported as needing medical help. A UAF officer found them, and an ambulance transported them to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.

Welfare Check

12/4/2017 7:31 a.m. – Two calls were made to the UAFPD about a drunk person in Wickersham Hall. Officer discovered the person calling was using the police to follow an ex partner. The person was told that their behavior would not be tolerated, that they couldn’t contact their ex, and was trespassed.

12/5/2017 10:44 a.m. – An officer talked to a person who was placing pieces of paper on the windshields of cars in the Eielson building parking lot.

12/4/2017 7:31 a.m. – UAF Police were informed of a restraining order, and worked with the person providing it in order to enforce it.

Agency Assist

11/23/2017 4:48 p.m. – Alaska State Troopers requested assistance from UAF police regarding a car that had been running for hours in the Sandvik Parking Lot. The vehicle occupant ran when contact was made and officers are currently trying to locate the individual.

Suspicious Circumstances

11/21/2017 9:44 p.m. – Staff at the University Park Building called in a report of missing equipment, last seen two weeks ago.

11/23/2017 6:55 p.m. – Someone reported a “chemical odor” coming from inside the Gruening Building. An officer responded and walked through the building, but detected no odor and found no chemicals.

11/25/2017 1:11 p.m. – A parent contacted police to report a phishing attempt on a student’s bank account. Officers contacted the student and reported the scam.

11/23/2017 4:05 a.m. – A woman was reported to be harassing a desk attendant in Bartlett Hall. An officer responded to the report and transported the woman to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

Criminal Trespass

11/23/2017 3:33 p.m. – A trespassed woman was reported to be in Wickersham Hall. Shen Wang, 20 of Fairbanks, was located, arrested, and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center with a Criminal Trespass 2 charge.

Intoxicated persons

11/23/2017 2:39 a.m. – Multiple intoxicated people were reported to be in the MBS lobby. An officer responded and on person was taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center for a sleep-off.
