Police Blotter: September 11 – 18

Domestic Violence

9/12/2017 10:13 p.m. – A man visiting Wickersham Hall was assaulted by a woman. The Title IX office was contacted and she was arrested and charged with assault, with other charges pending.

9/16/2017 10:18 p.m. – Two people arguing in Bartlett Hall were arrested when one slapped the other. The assailant was charged with assault, while the other person was taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center for an arrest warrant.

Traffic Stops & Offenses

9/11/2017 11:16 p.m. – During a traffic stop on Geist Road, a driver was given a summons for driving in violation of an instruction permit and for having expired registration.

9/16/2017 1:50 a.m. – A passenger in a car near the power plant was found vomiting, after which the driver of the car was cited for underage drinking.

Theft

9/12/2017 10:39 a.m. – A bike was stolen from a rack outside of Skarland Hall. The bike lock on it had been cut and the investigation is ongoing.

9/16/2017 5:15 p.m. – On officer is investigating a wallet that had been left on the passenger’s seat in an unlocked car was stolen on Sept. 8 from outside of the Fine Arts Complex.

9/18/2017 9:37 a.m. – A wallet had been either lost or stolen from from the Campus Corner Tesoro about a month previously. The UAF Police Department lost and found was checked and an officer is investigating.

Disturbance

9/15/2017 5:04 p.m. – An officer responded to reports of loud yelling coming from the Cutler Complex. It was found that a group of students were just playing “Call of Duty” very loudly.

Found Property

9/16/2017 4:04 p.m. – An unsecured bicycle was found sitting by the Rasumuson Library. A lock was also dropped off at the front desk by an unknown person. Both the lock and the bicycle were taken to the UAF Police Department for safekeeping.

MVA Hit and Run

9/18/2017 10:23 a.m. – A car in the Reichardt parking lot was damaged sometime between 5 – 8:30 p.m. the previous night. An officer is investigating.

Suspicious Circumstances

9/14/2017 2:05 p.m. – A UAF staff member in the Eielson Building received text messages from a student showing potentially unstable behavior. The Dean of Students and UAF Police were contacted.

Welfare Check

9/18/2017 7:41 a.m. – Some residents in the Hess Village were having an argument. An officer made contact with them and Res Life was contacted for a followup.
