UAF Women’s Basketball Kicks Off the Season With Blue & Gold Scrimmage

HYPE - Women’s Alaska Nanooks basketball player Jayda Van Dyke hypes the children in the crowd during the October 26 Blue and Gold scrimmage game. 

The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team participated in a Blue and Gold scrimmage on October 26, 2024 in the UAF gym. During the shoot off at halftime player Jayda Van Dyke was seen hyping up a crowd of children to help her cheer on her teammates. It became apparent that these kids were the true stars of the night as they counted out every shot made during the competition. There are seven returning players, five transfers and two freshman players on this year’s roster.
