Nanooks Swim Team Wins Against Westmont College

An electric atmosphere led the last Nanooks swim team to a victory on January 17, against Westmont College. The Nanooks won with a 156-49 score. This meet concluded the home meets for the 2024 to 2025 season.

The relay team consisting of Adeline Berry, Jordan O’Connor, Ali Pecore, and Mayumi Schaetzle placed first in the 400 medley relay, finishing in 4:07.37 minutes. Pecore also came in first place for the 200 freestyle relay and in the 500 freestyle.

UAF freshman Janci Pangburn won first place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.41 seconds. UAF sophomore Dorka Dancsok came in first in the 200 individual medley and in the 100 breaststroke.

The Nanooks swim team celebrated their seven seniors during this meet. This was their final home meet before the Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference in February and the NCAA Championships in March.
