The Nanooks Are Ice Block Classic Champions for Eighth Year in a Row

On September 12, the Nanooks volleyball team won against Felician University in the Ice Block Classic with a 3-0 victory. University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Elena Guc had ten kills that night, helping the team win. On September 13, the team had another victory of 3-0 against Slippery Rock University. UAFs Karli Nielson and Rilee White led the team with twenty-nine kills, Nielson achieving sixteen and White achieving thirteen. The game was a close call, with the last set being a difference of four points. The final day of the Ice Block Classics resulted in a win over UNC Pembroke from the Nanooks with a 3-1 score. The first two sets were split between teams, and the Nanooks won the second two sets, resulting in their victory. After the matches were over, Nanooks became the Ice Block Classic Champions for the eighth year in a row.
